People say my companion cube looks like a borg cube. That is completely false: the companion cube loves you, while the borg cube wants to assimilate you. The archetypal Borg cube is a variety of immense, cubic starship that functions as part of the Borg Collective. Enjoy!

Continuing my obsession for Gundam Seed is Infinite Justice. This is made using the existing spore spaceship and took about 3 hours.

As promised for the millionth time, here are this week's .PNG files. It's free to download and feel free to critique! Keep this page bookmarked as there will be more work to come! Also, I'm open to requests.

  • Protoss Zealot - The one and only Spore creature this week. Personally, I like building UFO/Spaceships more because the space stage is longer than the tribal and civilization stages combined.
  • Ghost In the Shell Tachikoma - The Tachikoma(s) in the Ghost in the Shell series has always been my favorite intelligent tank. Nice clean color scheme and frigging dangerous.
  • Protoss Carrier - The pinnacle advancement of warship technology build by a race of mouthless psychic reptiles. Plyon energy not included, interceptors sold separately .
  • Terran Behemoth Battlecruiser - If the long name does not scare you, the Yammato Cannon and the tactical nukes surely would do the trick. This battle platform is built to tank and dish out damage at the same time while the admiral chill and drink British tea.
  • Ragnarok Draconian Mothership - My only original piece this week, many commenters on You-tube call this the pimped-out ship. Ingame, the tail section can move on its own, giving it a more 'dragon' flavor.
  • Starfox 64 Arwing - DO A BARREL ROLL! Peppy meme never gets old. Most World of Spore pollsters think this is my most awesome ship. Maybe they like the simple, yet sleek design, or maybe they just like that damn monkey yell "MY EMPEROR I FAILED YOU~!" at the end. Anyway, a fan asked me to do StarWolf's Wolfen from Starfox Assault. If anyone can supply me a couple of good pics, I'll do my best!
  • GN-005 Gundam Virtue - Along with my first Gundam Freedom attempt, was voted top 50 gaming videos in Hong Kong for a couple of days. (香港, 谢谢您的支持!) From the Gundam 00 series, Virtue Gundam was my first serious attempt to make a anatomy correct Gundam. It turned out better then I would ever expected.
  • The Archangel - Awesome ship from the Gundam Seed series. Never get why the cockpit is that vulnerable to fire though. The angle of the "legs" has been readjusted and the body has been lengthened.
  • Various Gundam Freedom(s) - Freedom stole away my freedom (pun intended). It's almost an art form of its own to make the perfect Freedom Gundam. If you haven't seen Gundam Seed already, you owe it to yourself to see it. It's that damn good.
  • Jesus Fnkin' Christ - Yea, you can tell I'm not a good Christian. Use this Spore-ship: when you have a statement to make or you just want to see Jesus piss laser beams and nuke whole worlds. Do not use this Spore-ship: around ban-happy right-wing knuckleheads or in front of Jesus. Hey, if Will Wright called this a 'God game' damnit I'm going to use the supposed son of god to conquer the scums of the universe.
  • Portal's Weighted Companion Cube - This one is for the girls and the trekkies. The cake may be a lie, but the Companion Cube will never leave your side or backstab you. Also, you can brag that your enemy was eliminated by a cube with pink hearts...

What would Jesus do?

I blame insomnia for this piece. This one you either really love it or you will place a bounty for my head.
(yea, I know im going to hell...)

Ever wanted to make your own creation in Spore, but found your skills lacking? Here are the top 5 tips that can help you make a better looking Spore creature/vehicle/spaceship/mech/spaghetti-noodle monster:

  1. Patience - It may look simple, but even my Companion Cube took hours upon hours to make. It takes a lot of time to fit a piece to that small sweet spot. Experiment with different shapes can be rewarding.
  2. If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck, quacks like a duck, its probably NOT a duck- Take some time to play around with each and every piece. Many pieces could be warped into new and different shapes that might come in handy. For example, in my Companion cube piece, the pink heart is a warped spade, squashed thin. Just because a piece looks like a window does not mean it's exclusively an window. By recoloring it, it can be recycled for other purposes. The eyes on my Tachikoma are shrunk and recolored port holes.
  3. More colors that meets the eye- This might be trivial to some people, but it took me a while to figure out that if you hover your cursor over a color in paint mode, you can change to different shades of that color.
  4. Tab is your friend - When working on any creations, my left hand never leave the TAB key. By holding down TAB, you get more ways to manipulate the piece, giving you more freedom and better control.
  5. Get a second monitor - Once you go dual, you never go back. Not just for Spore, but for anything and everything else. I would have Spore running on my main monitor and Firefox on my second monitor on Google image. I like to have a visual representation of the model in front of me at all times, and especially for minute details.

Here's the .png for the first Freedom. Hopefully a new and improve one will be up soon~!

BONUS! Freedom #2 -This one never made it to youtube cuz I hated it. keep on the lookout for v 2.0!

I realize that I have a relative large Gundam Seed fanbase that like the Gundam Freedom Video. But let's face it: it's FUGLY! That was one of my first works in humanoid mech and it don't even look that good. Good news is that I'm a quasi-perfectionist, so be on the lookout for Freedom 2.0 today or tommorow!
